Our Passion

The legal sector is a prime target for cyber attacks. Law firms hold a vast amount of sensitive information, including personal data about clients, confidential legal strategies, and financial records. This information is highly valuable to cybercriminals, who can use it for a range of nefarious purposes, from identity theft to extortion.

Cyber Security

Not your typical Cyber Security Provider

We provide specialized training and awareness programs for legal sector employees to help them understand the latest cyber security threats and how to mitigate them. This education is important to ensure that all employees understand their role in protecting the firm’s information and are aware of the security policies and procedures that must be followed.
Furthermore, a crucial step in protecting a legal firm from cyber threats is having a comprehensive incident response plan in place. In the event of a cyber attack, it is important to respond quickly and effectively to minimize the damage and get the firm back to normal operations as soon as possible. We work with our clients to develop incident response plans that are tailored to their specific needs, to ensure that they are prepared to handle any incident that may occur.

SRA THEMATIC REVIEW

Key findings of the SRA thematic review

A total of 40 firms were interviewed. The SRA wanted to know more about the experience of the firms targeted by cyber criminals and to establish the impact of the attacks, what measures they did/didn’t have in place to protect themselves, and the subsequent preparedness of firms to reduce the risk of repeat incidents.
  • 75% had suffered attacks, a combination of firms and their clients
  • £4m of client money stolen, higher insurance premiums, loss of billable hours and reputational damage
  • ~Many firms suffered repeated and increasingly sophisticated attacks
  • Staff were poorly trained on cyber security matters and in most cyber attacks, it is people who are targeted. Technology was also found to be inadequate in terms of controls. More shockingly some firms did not report breaches which resulted in incurring significant fines
